About Grand in Theory

“Grand in Theory” is a personal blog about money, work and trying to build a decent life in Ireland.

I started it because most financial content does not feel like it is written for people like me. It is usually aimed at people doing extremely well, people who are completely broke, or people trying to sell you something.

I have a job, I save money and I have goals, but half the time I still have no idea if I am actually getting anywhere.

This is where I will write about my own finances, saving, work, the cost of living, rural Ireland and whatever else I happen to be thinking about or is getting on my nerves.

Some posts will be useful, some will be more personal and some will probably just be a rant.

The point of the site is mostly to keep myself accountable, document what I am doing and maybe help someone else along the way.
